I like the idea of short "tweets" which are easy to be found on the home page. Twitter is a great and fast way of communication, almost always faster than any news. In comparison to Blackboard discussion or in-class conversation, I feel like people are more open on Twitter. You can easily create an account on Twiter with the desired nickname to post anonymously your thoughts. On blackboard and in real life people see you or your name and create their thoughts about you based on what you say. It can be a good thing and really motivate yourself to present at your best or be fully prepared. However, it can also put pressure on you and prevent you from being yourself and make you just follow everyone else opinions on certain trends and situations.
