P2P

I think file sharing has become very popular recently especially between younger population. When someone sends their friends or coworkers a file through different platforms they basically have participated in P2P sharing. P2P stands for peers to peers, which depending on the file can be unethical sometimes. For example, if someone has bought a movie on the internet and then share it with their friends it becomes unethical and illegal. However, P2P can be beneficial to everyone as well. If it is a text that you have written and you just want one of your friends to take a look at it, file sharing will definitely save you a lot of time. P2P created such companies as Lending Club and Prosper. They have been successfully helping people to lend their funds to other people and avoid paying a higher percentage on the loan to the bank (Kaufman). 1. Advice

I would love for Baruch professors to start using Google Slides. Sometimes it just takes too long to find a certain presentation on the Blackboard. In addition, you also have to save it to your computer and then when you want to look at it again have to search in your desktop or download folder for the right one. I think with google slides it would be a lot easier since all of the power points or world documents can be in the same place. I think it would be cool if we can call other people who are taking the same classes as us in a different country. In anthropology classes, we would be able to discuss the cultural differences and similarities. In my opinion it would be a really cool addition to the class.

HW Creativity

New media created new ways to be creative. Nowadays, we have people who design social media pages for companies or share their opinions through videos on YouTube. It can be something totally unexpected, like Jeremy Brown, who created a mashup by combining two songs (Frere-Jones.) He composed it in his bedroom and shared it on his website where it became accessible for everyone. The perks of new media are that it is accessible to almost all classes of the population. People still spend a crazy amount of money promoting themselves but it is not the only option out there. The Internet is your best friend as millions of people can share your song with their friends if they like it. In my opinion, new media definitely helped creativity to develop even more but what is more important it made the work accessible for other people.
